Today Elli was working on some little crafts of her own imagination. I had to say, “Tomatoes are not craft supplies!” 🤷♀️

Yesterday after Ki’s bath he was so relaxed that his oxygen saturations were 99-100%. He had been on 0.5L of oxygen for several days but we felt we could try dropping back to 0.25L. He continued to keep his sats up so I suggested a trial run off oxygen. He rocked it... Three.Full.Hours!
This afternoon his nurse felt he was ready for a second trial. She turned off the concentrator at about 2:45pm... it is currently 10:10pm and he is still off oxygen!!! Needless to say, this is a very exciting development. 😊 We were able to get a new bath chair for Ki through his teacher at the school district. We tried it out in the living room first. He seemed to be a fan. 😉 Since I had already planned to give him a bath today we decided to try it out. Until now we have been using an infant tub set on the counter in his room. It worked okay, but it was difficult to keep him in the correct position because he lacks trunk strength. This new chair allows us to strap him in and keep him secure. It went better than any bath we’ve given him to date! 💕
Several years ago I started a blog on Blogger called "Gotta' Love My Life". I used it to keep everyone (and by everyone, I mean my handful of friends and family that actually read the blog...) updated about the kids, my current projects, and every once in a while I'd share some deep insight I'd gained about one thing or another. When we moved to our new home -- nearly 6 years ago now! -- I no longer kept up with the blog.
Then came Hezekiah... In the last year and a half I've posted MUCH on Hezekiah's CaringBridge page. But that was all about him. And now that we've been home for more than half a year, I would really rather have someplace I can post about ALL of the kids. I also wasn't interested in picking back up with Blogger. Enter, Loucks' Life. Life is a journey, and you just never know where it might take you. I'll be sharing snippets of our unique journey here. Thanks for stopping by and sharing in our story! |
